About Aries Arts and Science College for Women
Aries Arts and Science College for Women was founded in the 2007-2008 academic year at Karunkuzhi by Er. D. Thirugnanasambandan, who earlier established the Aries Polytechnic College at the same location in 1998 under the Aries Educational Trust. The college was approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu (G.O. No. 381, dated 04.12.2006) and is permanently affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. Karunkuzhi lies near Vadalur, a town associated with the Tamil saint Ramalinga Adigalar (Vallalar), who founded the Sathya Gnana Sabai nearby. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Science and Arts, including B.A. English, B.Sc. Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Microbiology and Physics. As a private-aided women's institution recognised by the UGC, it primarily serves students from Vadalur taluk and the surrounding rural area.
