About C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy
C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy is a landmark pharmacy institution in Chennai with a legacy spanning over four decades. The college was established following a momentous decision taken on 1st December 1979 by the Tamil Nadu Chemists and Druggists Association to address the growing demand for qualified pharmacists. The College of Pharmacy was formally inaugurated on 13th July 1980 by the then Minister of Health, Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. H.V. Hande. Located on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Thoraipakkam, Chennai, the college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and is approved by AICTE and PCI, New Delhi. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. The college offers D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm (multiple specialisations), Pharm.D, and Ph.D programmes with 484 enrolled students and 40 experienced faculty. The institution is renowned for its innovative teaching methods, industry placements, and strong healthcare industry linkages.
