College of Food and Dairy Technology (CFDT), Koduvalli is a constituent college of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), located at Alamathi-Koduvalli near Chennai. The institution traces its origin to the establishment of the Institute of Dairying in 1991 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The campus is spread across approximately 82.12 acres and focuses on education, research, extension and technology development in Food and Dairy Technology. The B.Tech Food Technology programme was introduced in 2006 and the institution was renamed as College of Food and Dairy Technology in 2012. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Food Technology and Dairy Technology. Its academic portfolio includes B.Tech Food Technology, B.Tech Dairy Technology, M.Tech Food Technology, M.Tech Dairy Technology, M.Tech Dairy Chemistry and Ph.D Food Technology. The institution has departments covering Food Processing Technology, Food Process Engineering, Dairy Technology, Dairy Chemistry and Food Safety & Quality Assurance. Its infrastructure includes food processing plants, analytical and quality control facilities, incubation facilities, research laboratories and facilities for pilot and commercial scale production of food products.
