Wisdom and Virtue for Societal Growth
About Government Arts & Science College, Nagercoil
Government Arts & Science College, Nagercoil, was established on May 30, 2016, fulfilling the long-standing dream of the people of Kanniyakumari district. Initially functioning in a temporary facility at Vadasery, the college moved to its permanent, well-equipped campus within the Government Polytechnic College premises at Konam, inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister on September 5, 2017. The institution has since expanded rapidly from its core programs to house nine diverse undergraduate and postgraduate departments. The core mission of the college is to impart productive, affordable higher education to socio-economically disadvantaged students, molding them into socially conscious, highly capable, and responsible citizens. With qualified faculty members and structured government curricula, the institution emphasizes intellectual rigor, ethical values, and public service. Providing a rich academic environment backed by government scholarships, NSS programs, and active student associations, Government Arts & Science College, Nagercoil, continues to serve as an indispensable pillar of higher education and empowerment in the southern region of Tamil Nadu.
