About Government Arts College (Autonomous)
Government Arts College (Autonomous), Coimbatore, established in 1852 by the British Government, is one of the oldest and most prestigious government colleges in Tamil Nadu. The college became autonomous in 1987 and is affiliated with Bharathiar University. Accredited with NAAC 'A' Grade, it offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce. The institution is known for its experienced faculty, rich academic heritage, extensive library, research activities, affordable education, and strong contribution to higher education.
