About Government Arts and Science College, Edappadi (Idappadi)
Government Arts and Science College, Idappadi was established in 2012 to provide accessible higher education opportunities to students in the Idappadi region of Salem district. The institution is a Government college under the Government of Tamil Nadu and is affiliated with Periyar University, Salem. The college began its academic journey with undergraduate programmes including B.A. English, B.Com., B.B.A., B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc. Computer Science. Additional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes were subsequently introduced to expand the academic opportunities available to students. The college currently provides undergraduate and postgraduate education across Tamil, English, Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science and Management Studies. Its Department of Management Studies offers BBA and MBA programmes, with the MBA programme operating from 2018 under Periyar University affiliation. The institution also maintains academic facilities including a central library, computer laboratory facilities, internet access, departmental learning resources, student support activities and an active Career Guidance and Placement Cell.
