About Government Arts and Science College, Sendamangalam
Government Arts and Science College, Sendamangalam was established on 25 July 2017 as a Periyar University constituent college with the objective of providing higher education opportunities to students from the educationally backward and tribal regions around the Kolli Hills. The institution was initially started with five undergraduate programmes and subsequently introduced two postgraduate programmes in 2019. From 2020, the college came fully under the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college is located in the Sendamangalam region of Namakkal district and functions as a co-educational government institution affiliated with Periyar University, Salem. Its academic departments include Tamil, English, Commerce, Computer Science, Botany and postgraduate programmes in Tamil and Commerce. The college focuses on improving access to higher education for rural and hill-region students while providing academic, sports, awareness and student-support activities.
