About J.K.K. Nataraja College of Arts & Science
JKKN College of Arts and Science is an autonomous, NAAC-accredited institution on NH-544 (Salem-Coimbatore Highway) in Komarapalayam, Namakkal district, part of the J.K.K. Rangammal Charitable Trust's JKKN Institutions group founded in 1952. The college itself began in 1974 as Alamelu Angappan College for Women, established to benefit the wards of local weavers in the Komarapalayam weaving hub, and started as a government-aided college with around 100 students. It is now co-educational, affiliated to Periyar University, Salem, and holds autonomous academic status. The college offers 27+ undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across Science, Commerce, IT, and Management on a 15-acre campus that is part of JKKN's larger integrated 70-acre educational complex. According to the college's official communications, it reports a 95% placement rate with recruiter partnerships including TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, though these figures are self-reported by the institution and were not independently verified through third-party data such as NIRF. Campus facilities include a library of roughly 25,771 volumes with INFLIBNET and National Digital Library membership, campus-wide Wi-Fi, hostel accommodation for both genders, and a cafeteria.
