M.G.R. College of Arts and Science was established in 1988 and is managed by the Adhiyamaan Educational and Research Institution Trust. The co-educational institution is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem, and is located at Dr. M.G.R. Nagar in Hosur, Krishnagiri District. The college campus extends across approximately 250 acres and provides academic, residential, sports, research and student-support facilities. The institution has been re-accredited by NAAC with a B+ grade and is recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. M.G.R. College offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across computer science, artificial intelligence and data science, computer applications, commerce, biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, physics, chemistry, mathematics, hotel management, business administration, English and visual communication. The college also maintains dedicated research programmes in Tamil, Commerce, Biotechnology and Microbiology. Its campus facilities include laboratories, library resources, hostels, auditoriums, sports grounds, gymnasium, cafeteria and student-support services. The institution also operates a Career and Placement Counselling Cell and provides industry-oriented training programmes through organisations including IBM, NASSCOM, Barclays and Hindustan Unilever.
