Sarah Tucker College, founded in 1895, holds the prestigious distinction of being the first college for women in South India. Located in Perumalpuram, Palayamkottai, it was established in memory of Sarah Tucker of England through educational initiatives for women. Functioning under the Tirunelveli Diocesan Association (TDTA), the institution achieved autonomous status under Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and is accredited with an 'A' Grade by NAAC.
