About The American College
The American College, Madurai, established in 1881, is one of India's oldest autonomous arts and science colleges. Founded by American missionaries, the institution is known for academic excellence, value-based education, research, social responsibility, and holistic student development. It was among the first seven autonomous colleges in India and is affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational, and doctoral programmes across arts, science, commerce, management, computer science, and humanities disciplines.
