About U.C.A. College of Para Medical Sciences
U.C.A. College of Para Medical Sciences, Chennai is a pioneering physiotherapy institution with roots dating to 1993, when UCA started a 3.5-year Diploma Course in Physiotherapy. This was upgraded to the B.P.T. (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) Degree Course in 1998, recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu vide G.O.Ms.No.484, Health and Family Welfare, and affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. Located at Pachaiyappa's College Hostel Road, Chetpet, Chennai, the college is accredited by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. The curriculum covers Social Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Physiotherapy subjects, and Rehabilitation Sciences. Students receive practical training at the Madras Medical Mission Hospital and other specialty hospitals across Chennai. Internship training is conducted at Government Hospitals in Chennai. Eminent visiting faculty from retired Government Medical College professorial cadres enrich the academic environment.
